Watch Chesapeake Bay Week on Maryland Public Television!

Have you heard of Chesapeake Bay Week with Maryland Public Television? On the week of April 18th through April 24th, Maryland Public TV will be showing several films that showcase our Chesapeake Bay watershed, including some of our Waterkeepers. We’re excited to be a sponsor this year. Keep an eye out for the Waterkeepers Chesapeake ad spot during that week, and check out the full schedule of broadcasts here.

The following films feature our Waterkeepers and partner organizations!

  • The Outdoors Maryland film on April 20 features Theaux Le Gardeur, our Gunpowder Riverkeeper.
  • The Keeping the Potomac film on April 24 features Dean Naujoks, Potomac Riverkeeper, Brent Walls, Upper Potomac Riverkeeper, and Mark Frondorf, Shenandoah Riverkeeper.
  • The A Voice for the Rivers film on April 24 features ShoreRivers, one of our partner organizations.
  • The Healing Baltimore’s Harbor: A Pipe Dream? video features Alice Volpitta, our Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper.

Be sure to watch the Power of the Paddle, a documentary of Chris Hopkinson’s 9-day solo paddle trip the length of the Bay on a standup paddle board to generate awareness of oyster recovery efforts in the Chesapeake Bay. This year several relay teams will join him for the Bay Paddle, including a team of Riverkeepers, August 27 – September 3.
