“Water is Life” Open Mic Night at Busboys and Poets at 14th & V on July 20
On Wednesday, July 20th at 8:00pm, join Waterkeepers Chesapeake at Busboys and Poets at 14th & V in DC to explore what clean water means to you through poetry and story. We’re excited to have Malachi Byrd as our Host for the evening.
This is the third event of a series of poetry open mics exploring the undeniable fact that “Water is Life.” Waterkeepers Chesapeake, in partnership with Busboys and Poets, is hosting this series as part of the Clean Water Act 50th Anniversary Campaign.

Bay Paddle 2022
We had a blast last year at the Bay Paddle! This year, we invite you to join our team or make a donation. The best part this year is Waterkeepers Chesapeake is now a beneficiary of the paddle along with Oyster Recovery Partnership and Chesapeake Conservancy.

Clean Water Bingo!
The summer is great time to get out and enjoy your local waterways and to test your knowledge about clean water. What better way than to play Clean Water Bingo! Once you have Bingo, take a photo of your card and share on social media and tag Waterkeepers Chesapeake and #CWA50 and you’ll be eligible to receive some CWA50 prizes! Or you can email photos to CWA50@waterkeeperschesapeake.org.

We want to hear from YOU! Whether you have successfully used the Clean Water Act to protect your community or are still fighting to protect your family and community from pollution or have a heartwarming story about oysters, otters, osprey or other critters, we invite you to submit your clean water story to the Clean Water Act 50th Anniversary Campaign. Waterkeepers in the Chesapeake region are partnering with other nonprofits, community groups and local businesses to offer the Clean Water Act 50th Anniversary Campaign (CWA50) as a platform for people to demand equal justice and access to clean water. We are working with campaign partners to design local events and uplift stories to highlight clean water successes and the challenges of today, such as climate change and environmental justice, that still need to be addressed.
We would love to have your organization, group or business become a Partner! As a Partner you can amplify CWA50 communications, host events with CWA50 messaging, and submit stories.
