Waterkeepers across the region work tirelessly every year to pass state laws that advance safeguards for water, wildlife and communities and secure clean water funding in the budget. This year highlights include progress on protecting water and lands from toxic PFAS and protecting clean water funding in budgets during a tough fiscal year. American Rivers listed the Potomac River at the top of their annual Endangered Rivers list — a stark warning the our Nation’s river is at a pivotal moment. Rapid data center expansion and the massive sewage spill this year are putting new and unacceptable stress on the river that provides drinking water for millions.

Bay Paddle – July 25, 2026

Come out for the Bay Paddle on Saturday July 25 hosted by Kent Island Outrigger Canoe Club to celebrate and help protect the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. This is an epic day of paddle races! With a 35-mile, 10-mile and 3-mile race, there is something for everyone!
