Waterkeepers Chesapeake’s Response to the COVID-19 global health crisis
We hope that you and your family stay safe and healthy during this global COVID-19 health crisis. It’s times like these that make us more aware of the importance of resilient and sustainable local communities for our health, economies, and well-being. Our 17 Waterkeepers are part of the essential fabric of their communities, working to protect clean water and healthy communities. The COVID-19 global health crisis is shining a light on how communities hardest hit by pollution are most vulnerable to COVID-19 and other public health threats. Never has it been more important for us to work toward a clean environment for all.
Like many nonprofit organizations and local businesses, Waterkeepers Chesapeake and our Waterkeepers have had to respond quickly and creatively to work remotely and provide programs, events and outreach virtually. Read our blogs about some of the interactive ways we are continuing to champion clean water and keep you all connected to our cause.
