Nina Beth Cardin is a community rabbi who works at the intersection of faith and sustainability. Rabbi Cardin founded and led the Baltimore Orchard Project, a food and land justice organization dedicated to building healthier connections between people, food, and place. She founded the Maryland Campaign for Environmental Human Rights, an initiative that is working toward a constitutional provision that would protect all Marylanders’ rights to a healthy environment, and regulations that would assure the pursuit of public health and environmental justice. She lives in Baltimore County, next to a neighborhood stream, in the Jones Falls Watershed.
