Gozi Egbuonu

Development Manager

Gozi joined Waterkeepers Chesapeake in 2019, coming from The Fishing School, where she served as the organization's Development and Communications Manager. Her professional experience includes copywriting and editing work for the ecommerce fashion, education, and psychology industries. In addition, Gozi has supported senior development specialists with fundraising, grants and prospect research, donor relations, event coordination, and database management. Gozi has also served as the Advancement Specialist at Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP), where she spearheaded event partnerships with southern California organizations like Knott’s Berry Farm, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Outside of development, Gozi is a Registered Behavior Technician who has worked at Verdugo Hills Autism Project in Van Nuys, CA and Continuum Behavior Inc. in Woodbridge, VA. While in Los Angeles, Gozi was a Content Coordinator and a Lead Copywriter at BCBG Max Azria Group, LLC, and an e-commerce Copywriter for HauteLook, a Nordstrom Company. Gozi received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Washington and Lee University (W & L), Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine GSEP (2016), and Master of Science in Medical Humanities and Bioethics from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (2018). In her free time, Gozi is a water sports enthusiast, painter, active in her church at National Community Church in Southeast, DC, and loves spending time with her three nephews and two nieces.
