From Hancock to the Bay, Maryland citizens are rising up to resist pipelines in their communities. This summer in Maryland, we\u2019ll be camping out to protect our water and STOP TransCanada from building a fracked-gas pipeline underneath the Potomac River and C&O Canal.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/a>On August 11th at 1:00pm<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0join Maryland legislators, CCAN, Upper Potomac Riverkeeper, Sierra Club, Food & Water Watch, Waterkeepers Chesapeake and concerned citizens for a\u00a0press\u00a0conference and kayak\u00a0action against the Potomac Pipeline<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0We’ll be gathering at\u00a0Taylor’s Landing on the C&O Canal Towpath, near Sharpsburg, MD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, we’ll say NO to TransCanada’s proposed fracked-gas pipeline under the Potomac!<\/span><\/p>\n

This summer, we are forming a resistance to stop the pipeline under the Potomac. We will do this by\u00a0staging camp outs along the C & O Canal throughout the summer<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to draw attention to the many groups, concerned citizens, and elected officials who are opposed to endangering the drinking water of millions for a pipeline that wouldn\u2019t even benefit Maryland citizens. We\u2019ll be calling on Governor Hogan to deny the permit that would allow TransCanada to drill under the Potomac in Maryland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Call Governor Hogan today and leave a voicemail asking him to reject the pipeline!\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Governor Hogan has the authority to stop this pipeline. He can direct the Department of the Environment to deny a special water quality certification under the Clean Water Act.\u00a0Please take a minute right now<\/a>\u00a0to send an email<\/strong> to Governor Larry Hogan to tell him to reject the Eastern Panhandle Expansion project!<\/span><\/p>\n
